London

Once again I've found myself so incredibly busy that I barely have time to look through my own trip photos. It's too overwhelming to go through hundreds of gorgeous shots from London and I must say, while I do find myself feeling a bit guilty for not sharing them all with you, it's just so much easier to focus on my favorites. And tell you about my trip, of course.

During our weekend in the city we stayed at the Langham Hotel, which I highly recommend for anyone who adores a sense of charm and glamour, and everything pink. Their branding is to die for and I'm not ashamed to say that my mother and I snagged these goods as precious keepsakes. Special touches like chocolates and quote cards on your pillow each night before bed do not go unappreciated by this girl.

We spent Friday and Saturday exploring London. The casual tourists spots included (of course) - London Eye, Big Ben, the London Tower and Tower Bridge. We were lucky enough to catch the gorgeous poppies surrounding the Tower, over 800,000 installed in memory of the country's deaths during WWI. From there we walked the bridge and caught a cab to take our tired little feet home for a nap. The night was spent with dinner at Simpson's in the Strand then it was off the The Lion King, which was amazing!

Saturday we had to explore Harrods as it was getting ready for the Christmas season and it did not disappoint. Always a must-see when you go to London. I would recommend spending MOST of your time on the first floor with the chocolates and all the eateries. It's a delicious place! From there we headed to Buckingham to say hello to our friend, the Queen, grabbed lunch, and spent the evening in Notting Hill to see where my cousin is spending her semester. A quick stop at Recipease is an absolute must for all of you cooks. Or for those (like me) who just really love bread. The best idea of the weekend was to grab a couple loaves, snag some cheese and wine, and enjoy our "dinner" from the hotel room, before heading to see Evita. We were completely blessed to enjoy two theater shows in a row. Never go to London with out seeing one!

Sunday was spent in the countryside. A little tour of Windsor Castle, then a stop at Stonehenge and by sunset, we were in Bath. It was absolutely beautiful during that time of day and the most charming little town. I can easily see how it inspired so many of the Wordsworth Classics. At the end of the day it was nice to put our feet up and rest, and it was back to DC the next day. London is a very easy city to get done in one weekend! Thanks for all your sweet comments on my Instagrams! So glad you enjoyed following along! I've added some of my photography to the print shop so they can be yours too --> Catalina Creative Print Shop.
