Thinking

Taking a lunch break and thought I'd fit in some thoughts from this week.  I've been thinking, and speaking, to my mom and random close friends/family about really making this blog into something bigger. Doses of Design will always remain mine and a space where I can write about and share whatever I wish to share. It has become my favorite thing. I must say, I'm quite obsessed with my site here and I'm so happy that I began it earlier last year. With that said, my mom and her sisters have always wanted to open up their own little shop. A side project of course, aside from their main careers as business women. We all bring something different to the table, an interior designer, a lawyer, pr/advertising, graphic design, business, marketing, writing and more. Plus we all have an equal love for all beautiful things.

My mom and I finally got to talking about this idea, and we've agreed that I should begin researching everything to start it off. Everyone has to start somewhere, right? I've kind of fallen in love with the idea of one day owning my own business, but I'm still pin-pointing what I want to do. I have a love for interior design, brand styling, graphic design, fashion, etc. There's so much I wish to accomplish in this life! I'm hoping to get the ball rolling on something exciting and fun this year, and one day, maybe it'll turn into something greater than I ever imagined. Although I'm very lucky to have the job I do, I still feel like something is missing, and I'm anxious to begin a little side project of my own. Something that will truly allow me to do and be what I love.

I want to wake up every single day of my life and be excited! How many people can honestly say that they love going to work every single day? It's hard. I'm hoping that one day, I can be one of those women. What do you guys think? You've followed me from the beginning, you know what I love, you know my posts, my graphics, etc. A print shop? A small shop with fun and gorgeous pieces from our family's travels? A brand styling company? Where do I begin? If you have any advice, please share! If your blog grew into something bigger than you imagined, I'd love every ounce of detail on how you made that happen. I'm excited to get the ball rolling on this, and I'm hoping you all help me through out the year to do so. Let's see where this idea goes.

cheers, natalie
