The Furnished Wishlist

Am I right? With all this moving talk and my excitement about hopefully finding a new fabulous DC apartment, I've been anxiously exploring my favorite shops and have developed quite a major list of wishful furnishings. Mainly things I cannot afford... isn't that the way it always is? I'm dying over several furniture pieces - especially this gorgeous dresser. I've definitely noticed my sense of style has matured when it comes to home decor, and I don't hate it. I love the thought of dark furniture mixed with lighter fabrics or white accents. Rooms full of class and simplicity, with comfort, and a deep sense of homeliness. A place that seems very adult, in a stylish way.

While the furniture pieces have to be put on hold and kept back in the corners of my mind for future years, I'm still enjoying picking up several little decorative objects. Does anyone else find home decor shopping more fun than shopping for clothes? There's something so wonderful about collecting pieces we love and slowly building a home with them. What's your favorite piece in your home?

PS. Thank you for the well wishes in apartment hunting. Your good vibes are deeply appreciated! Anyone who has friends in DC who may be looking for something new.. please pass my name along :)
